Key FeaturesHonda e
This is not a Prototype. The all-new, all-electric Honda e is a dream made real with its unique combination of dynamic performance, refined comfort and cutting-edge technology.
The Honda e’s simple, uncluttered appearance has been achieved by integrating many of its external features. The front headlights, radar sensor and forward-facing camera, for instance, are all contained within a single panel. Two compact high definition cameras replace conventional mirrors, and a dramatic black tinted glass roof completes the smooth, seamless feel.
Electricity provides the perfect energy for city driving, it’s clean, efficient and produces dynamic performance with zero emissions. The new Honda e has been designed to be electric from the ground up, so no compromise has had to be made with its dynamics and handling. Power comes from a compact 35.5kWh lithium-ion battery, which drives the rear wheels via an electric powertrain, exclusively developed for the Honda e. Fully charged, it has a range of up to 137 miles*, which is more than enough to do all the things you love to do in and around town. Performance and range are constantly maximised, thanks to a clever system that keeps the batteries at their optimum working temperature.
What the Press Say…
It’s comfortable enough, too, dealing with nasty urban ruts and potholes more adroitly than a Mini Electric or Smart Fortwo EQ.
Space in the back is roughly on a par with the Renault Zoe, so there’s more leg and head room than in a Mini Electric or Seat Mii.
For sheer tech appeal, you’d argue they even give Tesla a run for its money. Ergonomically, the E works well.
Suspension noise caused by secondary intrusions is convincingly muffled before it can make its way into the cabin, and the impacts themselves are smartly rounded off in a rubber-footed manner that’s not entirely unlike a Volkswagen Polo in its effectiveness.
It’s the Urban EV Concept that became a legend, the legend that became a prototype and the prototype that became the dinkiest, most desirable car since the Suzuki Jimny.
The variable ratio steering (3.1 turns lock to lock) is light and direct with just a hint of feedback, not nearly as twirly and disconnected as a Fiat 500.
