Oil Filters
Safety
Oil filters are designed to filter out metallic powder or other contaminants generated within the oil due to oxidation, such as varnish or sludge, and return clean oil free of contaminants to the engine. If the oil filter becomes blocked and the relief valve remains open, contaminants cannot be removed from the oil and are circulated within the engine, which may result in engine damage
Performance
UNIQUE DESIGN WITH "IRREGULAR FOLDS”
- The filter stores a unique series of folds to increase its surface area, resulting in superior filtration and operating life.
- When the engine is stopped, the design of these filters prevent oil from draining from oil channels throughout the engine. This ensures that oil is supplied to required areas as soon as the engine is restarted.
Facts
Honda Genuine Oil Filters are tested for each series of engine and manufactured to provide optimal filtration
Ensure you use the correct oil for your Honda. Topping Up or changing your Oil with the wrong specification can damage your engine and emission control system.

Air Filters
Safety
Engines require a certain amount of clean air to operate properly. Air filters prevent dirt, dust and other contaminants from entering the engine, and allow the engine to perform at its best condition by providing a supply of air with the least amount of air resistance possible. The replacement interval for the air filter has been set to suit the usage time.
Performance
Honda Genuine Air Filters use an original viscous type of filter. Viscous type air cleaner elements have a special oil applied to the paper that guaranties outstanding performance:
- Air intake efficiency remains high as there is minimal airflow resistance.
- A proprietary filter material and structure mean the air filter has a long operating life.
Facts
ADAPTED FILTERING
Honda Genuine Air Filters have been developed to extract the maximum performance of each engine by testing them for performance to suit the temperature, dust quality and environment of each particular region.
-
Cabin/Pollen Filters
Safety
When breathed in, particles smaller than approximately 2 microns are absorbed into the lower respiratory tract and lungs and cannot be expelled by exhaling: they remain as deposits.
Performance
The superiority of Honda Genuine Cabin Filters : 3 layers in comparison with other products. Due to these 3 layers the Honda Genuine Cabin Filters have been specially designed for each particular model of vehicle to ensure that dust, pollen and other contaminants cannot flow through to the evaporator via air gaps. Filter types to suit the characteristics of each region are used.
Facts
- Designed with a proprietary filter paper with air holes that trap fine dirt and dust (the area of the filter differs with model)
- High efficiency due to minimal airflow resistance
- Long operating life thanks to a proprietary filter paper material and structure
-
Fuel Filters
Safety
Engines require clean fuel to operate properly. Fuel filters help to remove dirt and other contaminants from the fuel before supplying it to the engine, important for the performance and the life of your car.
Performance
The suction filter removes large dirt and the fuel is then sucked into the fuel pump. The fuel is then filtered again by the fuel filter before being fed to the engine’s fuel injectors. If the fuel filter becomes blocked, the amount of fuel sprayed by the fuel injectors decreases, or they may not even spray at all. When this happens, the engine may experience conditions similar to when the car runs out of fuel resulting in poor engine performance or acceleration.
Facts
When refuelling the car, fine dirt may enter the fuel tank when opening and closing the fuel cap and this can build up within the fuel filter, and cause it to become blocked. The number of times the car is refuelled increases with mileage, so the fuel filter must be replaced regularly from maintenance scheduled mileage.

Batteries
Safety
The battery starts the engine and supplies power to electrical components such as the lights and audio system, but is also used for backing up each of the car’s computers and control units.
Performance
HIGH ENGINE START-UP PERFORMANCE - Honda Genuine Batteries improve the electrical efficiency by special alloy plates. Thanks to a low resistance separator, they offer excellent start-up performance even in intense cold.
HIGH DURABILITY - 60 % longer durability compared with a standard battery.
LONG TIME MAINTENANCE FREE - Honda Genuine Batteries prevent overcharging and reduce the loss of electrolyte. They also eliminate the need of water refilling of the electrolyte for a long period of time.
Facts
With their specialised testers, our Honda technicians are able to judge whether a battery is degraded or if the battery is at low charge.

Wiper Blades
Safety
Wipers are a simple but important part of your car. The rubber of wiper blades gradually deteriorates due to usage conditions, temperature changes, sunlight or acid rain. This increases frictional resistance where rubber is in direct contact with the glass, causing juddering.
Performance
When wiper rubber wipes away ordinary raindrops, they leave a uniform film to ensure a safe level of visibility. Yet when oil contained in exhaust gases from surrounding cars (in particular diesel trucks), wax or similar substances adhere to the glass surface, parts of the rubber also adhere to the glass surface, resulting in an uneven film being generated, distorting visibility.
Facts
Honda Genuine Wiper Blade Rubber has been developed to suit the front glass curvature of Honda cars, providing the best wiping performance. They have naturally been designed to prevent rubber from falling off.

Timing Belts/Chains
Safety
Timing chains and timing belts transmit drive from the crankshaft to the camshafts which is a very important function within the engine. It is essential that full synchronisation of these two parts remains constant at all times. If a belt or chain were to slip or snap expensive engine damage will occur.
Performance
The high quality of these parts is essential as failure of either of these components would cause major damage to the internal engine components, leading to very high repair costs. Honda genuine parts are tested to go beyond the normal life expectancy and on the product they were originally designed for.
Facts
Timing belts have a recommended replacement schedule which for Honda vehicles is often higher in mileage or time than some other manufactures. This again stresses the importance of using genuine Honda parts: the Timing Belt would need to be able to achieve these higher intervals and non-genuine parts may not have been tested to the same high standard.
-
Auxiliary Belts
Safety
The auxiliary belt is used to drive all off the ancillary components such as Alternator airconditioning compressor water pump etc.
Performance
The force required to drive all of the ancillary components is high and a great deal of force is required to turn them , This means the auxiliary belt needs to be of a high quantity to be able to withstand these forces and for long periods of time. Also the auxiliary belt is subject to the elements this is due to the belt being fitted on the outside of the engine. Therefore the belt needs be able to withstand these conditions. Honda Parts are durability tested and will have exceeded the expected requirements during the intensive testing
Facts
The auxiliary drive belts on Honda vehicles are adjusted automatically by the self adjusting tensioner. This along with the high quantity of the genuine Honda auxiliary belts means there is no need for adjustment and also a very long service life should be expected.
-
Air Conditioning
Safety
The purpose of the Air Conditioning system is to either maintain a constant temperature or in hot weather reduce the interior temperature of the vehicle to a comfortable level.
Performance
Fully trained Honda Technicians will ensure that the Air Conditioning pressure levels are correct and the right Air Conditioning gas and oil is always used. Failure to do this can cause poor operation or even expensive damage to the Air Conditioning system. In addition blocked or poor quality cabin filters will have a detrimental effect on the operation of the Air Conditioning system.
Facts
In the winter time the Air Conditioning also helps reduce condensation levels helping to keep the windscreen and side windows clear. The Air Conditioning system should be used regularly throughout the year to keep the system functioning at its optimum level.
-
Clutches
Safety
In a car, you need a clutch because the engine rotates all the time but the car's wheels do not. In order for a car to stop without stalling the engine, the wheels need to be disconnected from the engine. The clutch allows us to smoothly engage a rotating engine to a non-rotating transmission by controlling the slippage between them.
Performance
A clutch works because of friction between a clutch plate and a flywheel in transmitting the drive to the gearbox and finally the road wheels. Any loss of friction between the clutch plate and the engine flywheel will result in loss of traction and therefore road speed.
Facts
These parts are used during development and testing of the vehicle and as such deliver optimum performance and longevity.

Drop Links
Safety
The Drop Link connects the left and right suspension components to either end of the antiroll bar.
Performance
When a car drives over a speed hump that goes the full width of the road, the suspension is compressed equally each side. The anti-roll bar simply pivots – it is not twisted and there is no strain on the link rods. But if one wheel hits a speed hump and the other does not, one end of the anti-roll bar is raised, twisting the bar. The force needed to twist the bar is all transmitted through the drop link rods which are normally are light metal rods with a ball joint on either or both ends.
Facts
Normally the ball joints or bushes at either end deteriorate and develop lost movement (play) which can be heard as a rattling or knocking noise. If this is ignored and the link rod actually breaks, the anti-roll bar becomes completely ineffective. The problems arise when the car is cornered hard, as it will roll much more than expected, causing dangerous instability. This will fail an MOT test.
