The ŠKODA SCALA is a completely new model with an emotionally-charged design and powerful identity all of its own. It also happens to be the first ŠKODA built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform. The new car is the next stage in the development of ŠKODA’s design language. Despite its compact external dimensions, the SCALA offers a generous interior and luggage compartment. State-of-the-art connectivity options, wide-ranging equipment and high-quality materials are complemented by a host of advanced driver-assistance systems previously the preserve of higher-end vehicles. What’s more, the car offers compelling value for money.
The innovative design of the LED headlights and rear light clusters ensures that the SCALA will always stand out. It is ŠKODA’s first production car in Europe to spell out the ŠKODA name in letters on the fifth door instead of the ŠKODA logo. The elongated fifth-door glass and aerodynamically shaped 16” to 18" high-gloss black wheels help to form the car’s sporty look.
The ŠKODA SCALA features full LED headlights and rear light clusters for safe driving and enhanced visibility in the dark and in inclement weather. The full LED version of the rear light cluster also comes with an LED reversing light and, for the first time in a ŠKODA, dynamic direction indicators.
The SCALA’s new generation of infotainment systems with displays of up to 9.2” is complemented by the Virtual Cockpit with a 10.25” display. The SCALA is the first ŠKODA always connected to the internet thanks to the built-in eSIM card. There is also an extensive range of ŠKODA Connect services, including new infotainment applications.
Besides the nine airbags, passenger safety is enhanced by Side Assist. When the car is changing lane, this system detects vehicles approaching from behind that are ready to overtake or are in the blind spot. Side Assist is active up to a range of 70 m, so it can also alert the driver to dangers on motorways and expressways.
The new optional Sport Chassis Control system makes the car even sportier. In addition to Normal mode, the chassis – which is 15 mm lower – offers a Sport mode with more rigid shock absorption.
