Flagship new Octavia vRS open for orders from 14 August 2024
The new Octavia vRS will open for orders from Wednesday 14 August 2024, further expanding the updated family icon’s range of derivatives.
Offered in both hatchback and estate forms, the vRS will start from £38,670 on-the-road (OTR) featuring a striking exterior design package with gloss black trim and 19-inch wheels plus improved technology and equipment inside.
The 2.0 TSI engine has been revised to now generate 265hp (a 20hp uplift over the pre-facelift model) and 370Nm of torque. Power is sent through a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission for a 0-62mph sprint in 6.4 seconds (6.5 for the estate), yet the car remains efficient with a WLTP combined fuel consumption figure of 40.8mpg (40.3mpg for the estate).
A VAQ electrohydraulic differential lock provides optimal grip when exiting corners, giving a natural steering feel without slipping the inside wheel under heavy torque loads. vRS models also benefit from a chassis 15mm lower than the regular car to further improve driving dynamics.
The vRS benefits from the regular Octavia’s upgrades inside, with a large 13-inch infotainment system, 10-inch Virtual Cockpit and an optional head-up display. USB-C ports are available for front and rear-seat passengers, and the electrically-operated boot with virtual pedal, keyless entry and blind spot detection are all included as standard.
Expanded SportLine range
The popular SportLine range will also expand at the same time the vRS derivatives open, with the acclaimed 2.0 TDI 150hp diesel engine offered from £35,775. The new engine will join the existing 1.5 TSI and 1.5 TSI e-TEC petrol engines.
The 2.0 TDI engine returns a strong 60.6mpg (59.9mpg for the estate) on the WLTP combined cycle and uses the familiar seven-speed DSG gearbox. Like the petrol models, the new TDI derivative will benefit from the same sporty looks that are signature to the SportLine range.
